Class 9 Theorems: NCERT Maths Theorem Directory

If you are revising class 9 theorems from the NCERT Mathematics book, this index is where to start. The theorem pages listed below present the theorems in the order the book prints them, each giving the book’s own statement, the printed NCERT page number, and a link to the page that proves it.

Use this index two ways: to jump straight to the Class 9 theorem list when you need a result fast, or to revise a chapter’s theorems in order. The page number on each entry lets you check a statement against the book without searching the whole chapter.

This page is the Class 9 index of the site’s theorems hub. It covers only the Class 9 Maths theorem pages listed in the directory — not other Class 9 subjects.

How to Use the Theorem Pages

Each theorem entry gives you three things: the statement in the book’s own words, the chapter and the printed NCERT page number where the book states it, and a link to the page that proves it. The page number lets you check a statement against the book without searching the whole chapter.

The revision routine runs in three steps:

  1. Read the statement and draw its figure yourself. A theorem only becomes clear when you can see what its “given” and “to prove” look like in a diagram.
  2. Write down what is given and what is to prove. Boil the statement into two short lines. If you cannot write them, you have not understood it yet.
  3. Follow the proof on the theorem page, then close the book and rebuild the proof from your figure. Rebuilding is the step that decides whether the theorem stays with you in the exam.

The mistake students make is learning the statement without its figure. In an exam the figure comes back first — it is the anchor that recalls the proof — so if you can redraw the diagram and label what is given, the proof usually follows.

The proofs themselves are not on this page; they are written out on the Class 9 Maths theorems page linked in the directory above. A theorem index is not a replacement for the textbook: the statements are the book’s own, and working through each proof is the revision.

Which Results Get a Theorem Page

Only results the NCERT book actually proves are listed with a theorem page. Results the book states without a proof are not given one, because there is no book proof to walk through:

  • Proved in the textbook — gets a theorem page with the book’s statement and a step-by-step proof.
  • Stated without a proof — axioms, postulates and definitions — no theorem page.

This is the same rule that runs across the whole theorems hub: a result earns a page only when the book proves it. Also keep in mind that textbook contents and the examinable syllabus are not always identical.

A theorem appearing in the book does not by itself tell you it is tested this session — check the current official CBSE syllabus when you plan your revision.

Questions Students Ask About Class 9 Theorems

Where can I find every theorem in the NCERT Class 9 Maths book in one place?

On this page. The directory above opens the Class 9 Maths theorems page, where each theorem carries the book’s own statement, the printed NCERT page number and a link to a step-by-step proof.

Are the Class 9 theorems listed in the order the book prints them?

Yes. The theorem pages follow the NCERT Class 9 Mathematics book chapter by chapter, in the order the book itself prints them.

Does this page prove the theorems, or only list them?

It lists and routes. The proof is written out on each theorem page, step by step — working through that proof, rather than memorising the statement, is the revision.

Why do some results from the NCERT book have no theorem page?

Because only results the book proves are listed. Axioms, postulates and definitions are stated without a proof, so there is no book proof to walk through and no theorem page.

Is this theorem list the same as the Class 9 Maths exam syllabus?

Not exactly. Textbook contents and the examinable syllabus are not always identical, so a theorem in the book may not be tested in a given session. Check the current official CBSE syllabus for what is examinable.
