This policy describes what NCERTTextbooks.com collects. It is short
because the site currently collects very little, and it is written to describe
what actually happens rather than to cover every possibility.

What we collect
Server logs. Like almost every website, our web server
records requests: the IP address making the request, the page asked for, the
time, the browser’s user-agent string, and the referring page. These logs are
used to keep the site running and to investigate faults and abuse.
WordPress cookies. This site runs on WordPress. WordPress
sets cookies only for people who log in to administer the site. If you are just
reading, WordPress does not set a login cookie for you. Your browser may cache
files to make pages load faster; that is your browser, not us.
What we do not collect
- We do not run analytics software. There is no Google Analytics on this site.
- We do not serve advertising, and there are no advertising or tracking
cookies. - We do not ask you to create an account, and there is nothing to sign up for.
- We do not sell or rent personal information, use it for advertising, or add
it to a mailing list.
If you use the contact form
The contact form on this page is the one place this site collects
anything about you, and only what you type into it: your name, your email
address, your message, and — if you fill it in — the page address you are asking
about. Your IP address and browser are recorded with the message, purely to
limit automated spam.
That information is stored on our server first and is used to read and reply
to your message. After it is saved, a notification containing the details you
submitted is sent to the editor through Gmail, so Google processes that email
for delivery. It is not added to a mailing list and is not used for advertising.
There is no reCAPTCHA or similar tracking service on the form.
Messages are kept while they are useful — typically until the question is
resolved and a reasonable period after. Ask us to delete yours at any time and
we will.
If any of that changes — in particular if advertising is added — this page
will be updated before the change goes live, not after.
Links to other sites
Pages here link to official sources, mainly ncert.nic.in and
cbse.gov.in.
Once you follow a link you are on someone else’s site and their privacy policy
applies. We have no control over what they collect.
Children
This site is study material for school students, and much of its audience is
under 18. There are no student accounts, sign-ups, advertising profiles or
tracking forms. The contact form is optional and asks only for the information
needed to understand and reply to a message.
Your rights
Unless you have written to us through the contact form, we hold nothing about
you beyond routine server logs. If you have, you can ask us what we hold, ask us
to correct it, or ask us to delete it by using the form below.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the “last reviewed” date above changes with it.
Material changes will be described rather than slipped in.
