If you searched for CBSE books for Class 9, this page is the starting point. It is a class-level directory for the NCERT books this site indexes: a single view of which subject pages exist for Class 9 and what each one contains.
The table below is built from the NCERT textbook entries this directory holds, not from CBSE’s wider subject scheme. It lists five indexed subjects for Class 9 – Arts, English, Ganita Manjari, Science and Skill Education – and each row carries the current state of that subject page.
This hub links down to subject pages only. Chapter-level questions such as which chapter covers a topic are answered on those subject pages, not here.
CBSE Books for Class 9: which subjects does this directory index?
The table below lists the five indexed subjects for Class 9 in this books directory and the current status of each subject page. Let the table do the routing: each subject name links to its own page.
| Subject | Books | Chapters | Page status |
|---|---|---|---|
| NCERT Books for Class 9 Science | 1 | 14 | Drafting |
| NCERT Class 9 Ganita Manjari | 1 | 9 | Drafting |
| NCERT Books for Class 9 English | 1 | 9 | Drafting |
| NCERT Books for Class 9 Arts | 1 | 17 | Drafting |
| NCERT Books for Class 9 Skill Education | 1 | 13 | Drafting |
Each row leads to a focused hub, and the subject pages differ in what they collect:
- Arts – the page to check before assuming a Class 9 title is missing; it collects the arts textbooks on this page.
- English – the English row holds the Class 9 English textbook entries with chapter-wise pages, not a single PDF drop.
- Ganita Manjari – the mathematics row; every Class 9 maths book entry in the directory lives here.
- Science – the science page gathers the Class 9 science textbook entries, so physics, chemistry and biology searches start in one place.
- Skill Education – the row for Class 9 skill-subject titles, and the place to go for AI or IT book searches.
The directory is the NCERT books index for this class. It is an index of the rows above, not of CBSE’s wider Class 9 scheme.
How to use the Class 9 book directory
Each subject row in the table is in one of three states:
- Available – the subject page is published and linked.
- Drafting – the page exists but is not public yet.
- Not yet built – the subject is named and marked coming soon, with no page to open yet.
NCERT and CBSE are different authorities. NCERT publishes the Class 9 textbooks, editions and official PDFs; CBSE sets the curriculum, syllabus and examinations. Use ncert.nic.in to confirm a textbook or download its official PDF, and use cbse.gov.in for the syllabus that says what is examinable.
Textbook contents and the examinable syllabus are not always identical. Check the current official syllabus before deciding what to study.
What is inside a Class 9 subject page
Opening a subject page from the table gives you four things:
- Chapter-wise contents – the NCERT textbook entries for that subject in printed chapter order.
- Exercise and question references – where each exercise sits in the book, so you can jump straight to it.
- Official PDF pointer – the page points to ncert.nic.in, never to a third-party download, because the official site carries the edition NCERT printed.
- Build state – whether the subject page is available to open now.
This hub routes you down to those subject pages; it does not answer chapter-level queries itself. A search like ‘motion class 9 pdf’ belongs on the Science page, not here.
What this Class 9 book list covers and what it does not
This index is for NCERT textbook entries, so keep one comparison in mind:
| Question | This NCERT directory | Where to go instead |
|---|---|---|
| Which Class 9 subjects are listed here? | The five indexed subject pages shown above. | The directory itself – each name links to its subject page. |
| Does CBSE offer more Class 9 subjects than these five? | Yes – CBSE’s scheme carries more languages and electives than on this page. | cbse.gov.in for the official subject scheme and syllabus. |
| Are reference books such as All-in-One or Arihant included? | No; this site indexes NCERT textbooks only. | The official NCERT list, not a reference-book shop. |
| Where do official PDFs and prices come from? | Not stored here; the subject pages point to the official source. | ncert.nic.in for the printed edition PDFs and the NCERT price list. |
This page organises the NCERT Class 9 materials into five subject sections: Arts, English, Ganita Manjari, Science and Skill Education. The label Indexed subjects refers only to the sections listed here — it is not the full CBSE list of Class 9 subjects.

Class 9 book list: common questions
Where can I get the Class 9 NCERT book PDF for a chapter like Triangles or Motion?
Chapter PDFs are not stored in this directory. Each subject page carries the official NCERT pointer and shows where the chapter sits in the book, and the official PDF for the current edition is on ncert.nic.in.
Do you list Class 9 book prices or reference books such as All-in-One and Arihant?
No. This page lists NCERT textbooks only, so reference books from other publishers are outside it. Prices are printed on NCERT’s price list, not kept here.
Where are the Class 9 IT or AI books in this directory?
They sit under Skill Education. The Skill Education row in the table above leads to the Class 9 skill-subject entries, including AI and IT book searches.
Why don’t I see Social Science or Hindi books like Kshitij in this Class 9 list?
Because this directory currently holds five Class 9 subject pages: Arts, English, Ganita Manjari, Science and Skill Education. Titles such as Social Science and Hindi Kshitij are part of the larger CBSE Class 9 scheme, but they are not pages in this index yet.
Is the Class 9 NCERT book list the same as the CBSE syllabus?
No. NCERT publishes the textbook; CBSE sets what is examinable from it this session. Textbook contents and the examinable syllabus are not always identical, so check the current official syllabus.
